My pieced work brings together remnants from fabrics that I’ve woven in many parts of the world, on many looms.
Where weaving is logical and sequential, piecing (like any type of collage) is global, intuitive and -- as the Surrealists knew -- psychologically revealing.
Stories emerge when juxtapositions create fresh meaning and densely informative surfaces.
The quilting in this piece is by Aljona Terzi, Schagen Netherlands, following my drawing based on Taoist magical diagrams.
