Recently I've been piecing together remnants from the many yards of fabrics that I’ve woven in many parts of the world, on many looms.
Where weaving is sequential, piecing (like any type of collage) is global, intuitive and -- as the Surrealists knew -- psychologically revealing.
Stories emerge when seemingly random juxtapositions create fresh meaning and can add up to densely informative surfaces.
The quilting (by Aljona Terzi, Schagen Netherlands) follows my drawing based on Taoist magical diagrams.
