Recent work includes piecing together scraps from the many yards of fabrics that I’ve woven.
Where weaving is sequential, piecing (like any type of collage) is global, intuitive and -- as the Surrealists knew -- psychologically revealing.
Stories emerge when seemingly random juxtapositions create fresh significance and can add up to densely informative surfaces.
The quilting (by Aljona Terzi, Schagen Netherlands) follows my drawing based on Taoist magical diagrams.
